A free consultation exists to generate sales. This one’s already been paid for, so our goal is to give you the best advice we can in the time you’ve bought. If your goals are unrealistic, you’ll get guidance on how to course-correct now, instead of getting a rejection email in March.
We carefully read your intake form before the call, so the 45 minutes is a hands-on discussion with actionable answers. We’ll pair you with the coach that’s the best fit for you, and give you one to three things you should do next, in order, delivered during the 45 minutes.
Forty-five minutes is enough time to be useful when you’re as efficient as we are. We don’t use clunky frameworks or templates to make our decisions — our coaches have helped enough students to immediately identify what matters for your profile.

Isn’t this just a free consultation with a price tag?
No, the price is very deliberate. You’re a client, not a lead to convert.
A free consultation has to end in a sale, so the advice you get bends toward whatever the consultant is trying to sell you on.
Plenty of good consultants do them in good faith, but at the end of the day, there’s still an incentive there.
With this consultation, you’re paying for a professional to answer your questions, which we answer in good faith as we would with any other client. If we deliver value in 45 minutes and you never hire us for anything else, we’re still thrilled.
Is 45 minutes enough to tell me anything useful?
Yes, because the work starts before the call. Your coach reads your intake form, reviews your profile, and might even assign some pre-session homework so that this consultation is as personalized as possible. Your 45 minutes are spent on strategy, not introductions.
Will this end with a pitch to buy admissions consulting?
No. If you’d benefit from more help, we’ll let you know, but we’ll leave it be from there. If you don’t need admissions consulting, we’ll tell you that too. Either way, the only follow up you’ll get from us is our meeting notes.
What if my profile is a mess?
Then we’ll tell you that, along with the two or three things that would help the most to fix it. We consider wherever you are in the process as the starting point from where navigation begins, not a mistake to apologize for. The end goal of this consultation is to pave a better path forward for you, not an audit of how you got here.
I’m not sure I even want an MBA. Is this still for me?
Absolutely. We’d even say this kind of consultation is designed for you.
We’re always going to give you an honest answer, and sometimes, the answer to “Can I get into business school?” is “You don’t need business school.” We’d rather tell you that for $150, than have you find out much later for $200,000.
Can you tell me which test to take, or whether my score is enough?
From a strategic standpoint, yes. We can discuss which test fits your profile, whether your current score is competitive for your target programs, and whether a retake is likely to be worthwhile.
That said, this consultation is not designed to serve as a tutoring session. If tutoring is potentially a good fit, we’ll let you know, and you can decide from there whether to pursue it.
What’s out of scope?
We can’t do the following during this session:
- A full essay or application review. That requires more context and time than a 45-minute session allows.
- Score improvement advice, which requires a deeper dive in a tutoring session.
- Guaranteed outcomes. Nobody can promise you an admit to a school from one conversation.
What if I need to reschedule?
Life happens. Give us 48 hours’ notice and we’ll move you to another slot.
